What is the difference between a resolution and a commitment?

20170107_043616000_iosA resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something or the action of solving a problem.  A commitment is the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause or activity.

When you resolve to do something, it is laying down the groundwork for the future.  It’s like saying, I’m going to do it this time.  The reason that a resolution is often put into the background and not accomplished is that one really hasn’t committed to their decision to solve the problem.

So, are you going to commit to something or resolutely plan to do it?  Are you going to be forever in the mode of planning to solve the problem or are you going to actually solve it?  It’s up to you.  It always has been.
